In Levi the centre is a few hundred metres wide, so the base sets the walk to the lifts and the dark at night.
The gondola, the front slopes, the tour pickups, the supermarket and most restaurants sit around the Zero Point at the foot of the fell. Stay there for a first trip, move up the fell for ski-in ski-out rooms and the view, or spend one or two nights in an aurora village outside the resort lighting.

Use the centre hotels when the ski bus, the pickups and the restaurants matter more than the room rate; nothing is more than ten minutes on foot. The Zero Point is the crossing at the foot of the front slopes where the gondola, the ski school, the tourist information, the shops and the largest hotels meet. A hotel here removes every transfer except the airport bus, and the free ski bus loops the rest of the resort.
Value case
Usually the best value for a four-night trip because walking replaces taxis to the lifts, the pickups, the supermarket and dinner, and the spa hotels bundle pools for the twilight afternoons.
Watch out
The centre is lit all night and the front slopes are floodlit until the evening, so the aurora needs a walk to the lake shore or a tour; slope-view rooms carry a premium the trip rarely uses.

Is it worth paying for a slope view in Levi?
Rarely in December, when the view is twilight for most of the day and the evenings are spent on tours or in the pool. In February and March the front-slope view is lit until the evening and pleasant, but the money buys more as a husky morning.
How far is Kittilä Airport from the Levi hotels?
About 15 km. Airport buses and taxis take about 20 minutes to the centre; the summit hotel and the aurora villages add a short shuttle or taxi at the end.
Can I stay in a glass igloo and still ski?

Christmas to New Year and the Finnish ski holidays from the last week of February to mid-March fill first, followed by the UK and Dutch half-term weeks in mid-February. Book the hotel as soon as the flights are fixed for those dates.
